Day to Day Itinerary of Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Day 01: Kathmandu – Pokhara (850 m/2788 ft) – by Bus
Take the tourist or local bus towards Pokhara, which takes around 7-8 hours. Later in the evening, hang out around the lakeside enjoying the nightlife of Pokhara.
Day 02:Pokhara to Nayapul & trek to Ghandruk (1940 m) 4/5 Hrs Walk
Wake up and then take a bus towards the Nayapul, it takes around 1:30 hrs to reach Nayapul from Pokhara. From Nayapul start your first trek towards Annapurna Base Camp Trek reaching Ghandruk for about 4-5 hours. Ghandruk is one of the Largest Gurung settlement areas of the Annapurna region that preserves the unspoiled tradition, culture, and lifestyle of the Gurung people.
Day 03: Trek Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2170m) – 5/6 hrs walk
Wake up early and have your breakfast. After breakfast, continue your trek towards Chhomrong (2170m). The trail today, in the beginning, ascends towards the top of Ghandruk and then descends steeply towards the Kimron Khola. Upon crossing the suspension bridge over the Kimron Khola (river), the trail again ascends towards Chhomrong. Chhomrong offers a stunning view of Annapurna and Macchapuchhre.
Day 04: Trek from Chhomrong to Himalayan Hotel (2920m) – 6/7 hrs walk
After breakfast, continue the trek towards the Himalayan Hotel. The trail today passes via Modi Khola and goes through the wooded slopes of the Himalayas. Afterward, the trail crosses a suspension bridge and ascends to Sinuwa Danda. The trail then crosses through a dense rhododendron forest and arrive at Khuldighar. Now finally the trail descends along a stony steep into the deep bamboo along with the rhododendron forest and finally reaches Dovan.
The trails now ascend upwards to Modi river and water streaming section in the jungle area. The trail offers the beautiful waterfalls and a stunning view of Machhapuchhre.
Day 05: Himalaya to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) via MBC (3720m) 5/6 hrs walk
Today’s adventure goes towards Machhapuchhre Base Camp MBC) and Annapurna Base Camp passing through narrow George Modi Khola Glacier valley past the base of Machhapuchhre which at last takes us to Annapurna base camp. MBC commands great views of Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I & II, Gangapurna.
After MBC, the trail experiences the great landscapes and also spots the snow boulders melting and forming small streams. The route widens up as it enters the sanctuary then it follows a stream and climbs to a small settlement area. Above the sanctuary, offers a spectacular view of the southern face of Annapurna towering above the sanctuary. Upon reaching ABC offers majestic views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, and other mountains.
Day 06: Trek from ABC to Bamboo (2,340 m) 6/7 hrs walk
Enjoy the striking sunrise view over the Annapurna Himalayas at Annapurna Base Camp and then retrace to Bambo following the same route as before to Base Camp, crossing the places of MBC, Deurali, Himalaya, and finally halt at Bamboo.
Day 07: Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda(1755m) 5/6 hrs walk
From Bamboo, it is an uphill trek to Kuldighar followed by a downhill walk to Chhomrong Khola, the trail climbs the stone steps to Chhomrong. The path then moves down to Jhinu Danda Just about 15-20 minutes downhill walk from Jhinu Danda, there lies a hot spring where one can take pleasure in and unwind.
Day 08: Jinu dada to Nayapul (1050m/) 4/ 5 hrs walk and 1:30 hrs Drive to Pokhara (820m)
Today’s trek descends to the Nayapul. It’s a short trek down to Siwai and from Siwai take a local jeep to Nayapul for an hour. One might opt to spend the night at Pokhara or take the bus towards Kathmandu.
