Dhulikhel one of the famous city of Kavrepalanchowk district is situated towards the east of Kathmandu at a distance of 30 km. One can easily reach Dhulikhel around 1 hour on a public bus from Kathmandu, Old Buspark. It is the Newari town and has a village square lined with temples. Different caste people reside here including Newar, Brahmin, Chhetri, and Tamang. It is famous for the panoramic view of the Himalayan Range as it propounds the spectacular panorama of snow-capped mountains on the north.
Dhulikhel also serves as the best destination for the short day hike. One can commence the short hike from the bus station and then walk towards the Kali Temple that resides at the top of the hill. Before reaching the temple one should walk through the 1000 stairs enjoying the scenic beauty of the forest, landscapes offered on the way.
The year-old Newari Town is also a popular picnic spot as it receives thousands of visitors annually who visit Dhulikhel to enjoy their picnic witnessing the majestic panorama offered by it. The picnic spot lies on the way to Kali Temple that lies at the top of the hill and can be reached after conquering the 1000 steps. Along with the spectacular view of the mountains, one can also witness the beautiful green forest, terraces fields, and the hospitality of the local people while relishing the picnic.
