Godawari, located at the base of Phulchowki hill lies towards the south-east of Kathmandu and is 10 km from the Patan. Godawari houses the National Botanical Garden of the nation which is home for more than 500 species of flora with 115 orchids, 66 ferns, and 77 cacti and is a perfect spot for bird watching. These 72 hectares of land are also home to around 256 varieties of birds and more than 200 species of butterflies. Godawari is also the famous picnic spot of Kathmandu Valley, as the garden is surrounded by lush green hills and accompanied by a pleasant environment along with natural diversity.
